Repsol Solmatch solar communities
Repsol Solmatch is a new service through which we're paving the way for distributed or decentralized electricity generation in Spain. With this project, we are bringing renewable power generation to the point of consumption by designing solar communities in urban centers.
What is this service all about?
The system produces 100% renewable energy through solar panels installed on private roofs in the area, and this energy is then distributed for consumption to homes located within a 500-meter radius. With these solar communities, we are encouraging new production and responsible consumption models, while promoting the use of cleaner and more efficient energy.
Circular benefits
This circular initiative reduces CO2 emissions given that the energy generated is 100% renewable. It also optimizes resources as fewer individual installations are required, and therefore less raw materials are used.
