Just transition

At Repsol, we advocate for a just energy transition towards a low-emissions future.

In this sense, we work to offer affordable, safe, and environmentally friendly energy products and services, as access to energy is key to economic development, boosting employment, and the society’s well-being.

Our answer to mitigate climate change is to take measurable actions aimed at an energy transition, in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. We are committed to becoming a net zero emissions company by 2050, and that is why we have laid out a path to decarbonization in line with the Paris Agreement. The use of all available or emerging technologies under the premise of technological neutrality is of crucial importance.

For Repsol, the energy transition can only be understood if it includes principles of efficiency, sustainability, and justice. This must be achieved with solutions that minimize the social and economic impact on workers, local communities, and society as a whole. And always based on respect for human rights, while paying special attention to the most vulnerable groups.

"At Repsol, we are committed to providing safe, affordable, and sustainable energy, three factors essential to the development of a just energy transition."
