Chemical News 23/11/2022

We jointly presented our latest projects with clients such as Grupo Armando Álvarez, Lactalis Nestlé, Plastigaur, SP Group, or Berry Superfos at the K 2022 trade fair, innovative solutions that contribute to circularity to respond to society's needs in terms of sustainability and emissions reduction.

Repsol at K 2022

We have presented our latest innovations at the K 2022 trade fair, an international benchmark for the plastics and rubber industry, held in Dusseldorf in October. During the trade fair, we presented the projects developed with strategic partners and our sustainable solutions as key levers to achieve our circularity commitments and promote our goal of being a net zero emissions company in 2050.

At Repsol, we consider it essential to collaborate with the different agents in our value chain, and we have joined forces with strategic partners such as the Armando Álvarez Group, a reference in the packaging sector in Europe and the world, and the LACASA Group, one of the leading national chocolate producers, to create a mono-material 100% recyclable container with our circular Repsol Reciclex® polyethylene for the confectionery industry. More details here.

We have also worked with the Armando Álvarez Group and Abena, one of the most important companies producing baby diapers in Europe, on a second project to increase packaging sustainability in the baby care sector with biobased material from organic waste such as used oils and biomass waste.

Additionally, we have carried out further projects integrating eco-design principles, working hand-in-hand with SP Group a manufacturer of a wide flexible packaging solutions range, and Huercasa, dedicated to producing ready-to-eat vegetable products, to develop a flexible mono-material container prototype for the food industry with our circular Repsol Reciclex® polypropylene.

In addition, to move towards circularity in food packaging, we have joined forces with Lactalis Nestlé, dedicated to yogurt and dairy dessert, a pioneer in incorporating recycled plastic from our Repsol Reciclex® range to manufacture its refrigerated dairy product bottles.

Besides, we have collaborated in developing different sustainable solutions with Plastigaur, dedicated to flexible packaging development and film transformation in sectors with high added value, and Ubis Adhesive Tapes, a specialist in the design and manufacture of adhesive tapes for all types of applications, offering the market the first adhesive tape made with our 100% circular Repsol Reciclex® polyethylene.

We have also exhibited the iconic mortar-shaped allioli container for the Choví Group, the result of collaboration with the processing company Berry Superfós, produced from our Repsol Reciclex® polypropylene containing 25% chemically recycled material.

We are firmly committed to industrial transformation, and we are advancing towards a circular and climate-neutral energy transition by 2050.
